There is no place in the world to be in January, except Sydney.
The month is filled with beach days, BBQs and moonlight cinema nights.
The cultural highlight is by far, the Sydney Festival (5-27 January).
The Sydney Festival transforms the city with a bold, cultural celebration, inspired by the highest quality art and big ideas.
In the city, the much-loved Spiegeltent houses Perfume Genius and Sharon Van Etton; contemporary NY ensemble yMusic; acoustic guitarist Lianne La Havas, and Spanish flamenco meets rock'n'rollers, Los Coronas.
Town Hall hosts the Paradiso Club, David Byrne of Talking Heads performs at the State Theatre, and Angelique Kidjo headlines The Domain Summer Sounds concert.
